How to get a link to your product when you don’t have 10,000 Followers on Instagram in your Instagram Story

  

  Swipe up is a great feature on Instagram for those who have over 10,000 followers but what can small businesses just starting out do to get a link in their Instagram Stories to help them compete?  It can be done in just a few steps!  

    The first thing you are going to want to do is create a 1 minute long video.  Why?  Because we are going to start out by posting your video and link to IGTV on your page.  There are lots of different ways to create a 1 minute video.  It can even be just a slide show that you do in one of your favorite apps.  I will walk you through the process using my Etsy business art page and the first post I did to get a link attached.

    Once you have your video created you will want to copy the link that you want your video to link to so that you can paste it in the right spot when you load up your video.  After you have that open your Instagram app to your business page. 

    The first step is to click the + button on top of your page.

    Next Select IGTV video from the menu.

    Select your 1 minute or longer video.

    It will open up your video and play it so just click next after you see that it is the right video.

      The next step is to pick the cover photo of your video using the slide board and hit next.

    Now we get to the fun stuff and how this will make it link to your product!  

    1. Title section: post something similar to  “Click here ⬅️ and then Click here ⬇️” along with emoji            pointers or arrows.  

    2.  Description Section:  This is where you will post your link that I told you to copy.  If your link is really long you may want to go to tinyurl and make it smaller. 

    3.  Also in the Description section you will post your hashtags that go along with your product, business, sale or what ever you are advertising in your video. 

    Lastly click Post to IGTV.

    Once your video is posted click on it and open it up in the IGTV section.

    Once open click on the little paper airplane.

    The next step is to click “Add video to your story.”

    Once it is posted to your story go to your story and test it out!  You will be able to click on where it says “Click Here” and it will open up in IGTV. 

    Then Click again and it will open up your link for them to click on!

    They then can click on your link and get to your product! 

    It is not as smooth as just swiping up to get to your product but you will be able to make videos of multiple products with their links to have in the IGTV and that can be a powerful advertising tool for a small business or a creative entrepreneur to use.
